wip wednesday...

First attempt at EPP with my favorite (out of print) Christmas line ever... Not sure if I could finish a whole quilt in this method - it is definitely tedious. But it has been great in the evenings to help me feel productive when I am really just being lazy and binging bad tv...

counting down

One of the things I have consistently made over the years is this advent calendar. We (well, really just I) have a total boycott on the (in)famous elf. Nothing against it...but I find it a lot of work for not a lot of pay out. Instead, we do the advent activity calendar. I truly love getting it out every year, placing the cards and (on lazy days) putting small gifts or candies in the pockets. I have made a half dozen for friends and family, and we always hear how much fun the kids, and sometimes parents, have with it. My kids are no different.

happy halloween

It's been quite a while since I have even visited blogger, much less thought about posting. Since my last post, lots has happened; daughter #2, a new house, lost our pup, lots of adventures, and even some quilting. But, 2020... enough said. I am definitely ready for (and in need of) some creative therapy via blogging, and quilting, of course. We have also adopted an annual family theme for Halloween... It started with Sesame Street 5 years ago, then Shrek, Wizard of Oz, Avengers, and this year - the Addams family. We let the girls pick the theme (as long as it is reasonable) and my in-laws are all-in. Which is amazing. Waited until the last minute this year and got everything together in 10 days. I made the girls' costumes from my husband's old t-shirts.
All in all, a pretty good attempt at trying to rescue Halloween this year.
